Today, PCSO Baker was conducting routine patrols when a vehicle was observed displaying a false rear registration plate and no front registration plate.

This vehicle is a known repeat offender, deliberately altering its registration plates to avoid paying for a Brent parking permit. The driver has previously been given multiple words of advice regarding this behaviour and the relevant legal requirements.

Due to the continued non-compliance, PCSO Baker liaised with Brent Council Vehicle Removal Unit, who attended promptly and issued a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). The recovery vehicle arrived within approximately 30 minutes and removed the vehicle from the Wembley Hill ward.

This behaviour will not be tolerated, and appropriate enforcement action has now been taken. The owner will incur significant costs, amounting to several hundred pounds, to reclaim there vehicle.

Deliberately removing number plates or displaying false plates in order to evade penalty notices or parking charges is an offence. Doing so may result in you being reported for the relevant offences and/or having your vehicle impounded.
